Digital TV

Student's life is expensive, that's for sure! Rent, electricity, gas, water, internet and if possible, also tv? TV subscritpions cost at least 200 euro/year or even more. Studenten Internet supports a solution that doesn't involve subscription costs,  sounds good right? This solution is called DVB-T. DVB-T stands for Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial and is the open standard for digitale video broadcasting. There are some restrictions, channels are limited to VRT, Canvas, Ketnet, Een+, Ketnet+, Actua tv. Also the commercial channel VT4 would become available in the future. All channels are received in digitale quality!  Popular radio channels are received in digitale quality too:  Radio1, Radio2, Studio Brussel, MNM, Sporza,...

What do you need for this?

1. Reception
Of course, without reception of the signal, no television. No worries, reception in belgian student cities is very good. (we tested in Gent, Antwerp en Brussels)

2. Een DVB-T receiver
Many different models are available and most of them work good. Our solution exists of a USB stick with seperate antenna. (fixed antenne supplied also) By choosing the seperate antenna, the antenna can be placed in front of the window on places where reception is less. This way, there will always be a good tv signal.

Minimal system specifications:
Windows XP / Vista / 7
Pentium 4 1.6GHz or better
1GB RAM geheugen or higher
1 free USB port

Enjoy dvb-t!
